CHURCH HISTORY - Rev.Pranabes Kumar Mukherjee received Jesus as his personal Saviour on 22nd May in the year 1976 from an orthodox Hindu family from a village in West Bengal. In that locality no body knew Jesus . This made his father furious and being persecuted he was driven out and disowned from the family . God led him in His way to join in Operation Mobilisation(O.M.) , there after using for His kingdom in different places of Odisha and West Bengal. As a result many churches grew in different places of Odisha and West Bengal. Ultimately the EVANGELICAL BAPTIST CHURCH COUNCIL OF INDIA TRUST is registered. In West Bengal, Mr. Asit Kumar Jana was a staunch idol worshiper whose son at the age of 5yr,suffered from brain Tumour in the year 1998 .Rev.Mukherjee visited the hospital where the child was admitted . Doctor explained the serious ness of the disease and told there is no hope for the child to survive. Rev. Mukherjee prayed for the child in the hospital and shared the gospel to Mr.Asit Kumar Jana and asked him to repent for his sin and pray for the healing of the child before Jesus who can give life to the dead. Believing it Mr.Asit Jana prayed to Jesus and miraculously the baby was healed. This situation made Mr. Jana curious to know more about Jesus and lastly Mr. Jana accepted Lord Jesus as his personal saviour along with his family. He donated a piece of land where the church building has been constructed. Another Widow mrs.Prativa Maity received Lord Jesus and also donated a piece of land. Rev.Mukerjee has laboured with his team and about 80 persons have witnessed Jesus through water Baptism. Many other from their locality came forward to know about Jesus and accepted Him as their personal savior. Now Rev.Mukerjee has laboured with his team and about 80 persons have witnessed Jesus through water Baptism. God is working and around 300 people gather to worship Jesus and interested to learn more about him and Pray for the ministry, The churches are growing .
